Director of the Legal Research Institute at University of Manitoba (1976-78), Governor of the Canadian Tax Foundation, member of the Professional Consultation Group of Canada Customs and Revenue Agency (Winnipeg), author of several publications on tax issues and served on a number of Boards including the Winnipeg Chamber of Commerce, Congregation Shaarey Zedek and Glendale Golf and Country Club.  Appointed Judge of the Tax Court of Canada on May 11, 2000
