The Honourable Eric A. Bowie

 

Educated at the University of New Brunswick, (B.B.A. 1964, B.C.L. 1966).  Called to the Bar of Ontario in 1968. Twenty-five year career with Department of Justice as: Director of Tax and Civil Litigation, Chief General Counsel, Assistant Deputy Attorney General for Civil Litigation, and Associate Deputy Minister responsible for litigation. Prior to his appointment was counsel in tax and civil matters, appearing frequently before the courts of Ontario, the Federal Court and the Supreme Court of Canada, particularly in administrative and constitutional law cases. Appointed Queen's Counsel in 1980, and certified as a specialist in civil litigation by the Law Society of Upper Canada in 1988.  Appointed Judge of the Tax Court of Canada on November 30,1995.
