Born January 12, 1958 in Toronto, Ontario.  Education at the University of Toronto, York University and Osgoode Hall Law School.  Called to the Bar of Ontario in 1989.  Partner at Blake, Cassels & Graydon LLP in Toronto from 2001 to 2003.  Partner and associate at Gowling, Lafleur & Henderson LLP in Toronto from 1989 to 2001.  Chair of the Financial Services Commission of Ontario and the Financial Services Tribunal from 1999 to 2003; Vice Chair of the Commission and Tribunal from 1998 to 1999.  Member of the Society of Ontario Arbitrators and Regulators, past member of the Executive of the Canadian Bar Association - Pension & Benefits subsection, of the steering committee of the Canadian Pension & Benefits Institute, and of the International Pension and Employee Benefits Lawyers Association. Co-author of The Law of Trusts, published by Irwinlaw, August 2005.
