Privacy Notice – Client Satisfaction Surveys


This notice applies to clients who answer external client satisfaction surveys conducted by the Court Administration Service which are related to the services and/or information provided by the Registries of the Federal Court of Appeal, the Federal Court, the Court Martial Appeal Court of Canada and the Tax Court of Canada. Our client satisfaction surveys are completely voluntary. 

Personal Information

All personal information you provide in our client satisfaction surveys is protected under the Privacy Act. This means that your individual responses to our surveys will remain confidential, and they will be reported only in aggregate form. We will not divulge any information which could identify a person or group without your consent. You have the right to gain access to a copy of the report that contains your responses, presented in aggregate with those of other respondents.

When responding to our surveys do not type your name or the name or contact information of any other person, in your survey responses.

Server

Courts Administration Service has contracted Chide.it Inc., an on-line survey tool provider, to enable the collection, storage and analysis of data from respondents. The server used for our client satisfaction surveys is hosted using the “Fluidsurveys software” provided by Chide.it Inc.

Chide.it Inc. is bound by its contract with Courts Administration Service which states that the online survey software meets Public Works Government and Services Canada requirements, which include security requirements. 

The survey data collected is stored in Canada and is kept confidential.  Only certain employees of the Courts Administration Service have access to the information you provide to us.  They have access only for data analysis and quality control purposes.

Use of Software Program

The Courts' websites may employ software programs to monitor network traffic, to identify unauthorized attempts, to upload or change information, or otherwise cause damage. Such software receives and records the Internet Protocol (IP) address of the computer that has connected with one of the Court’ Websites, the date and time of the visit and the pages visited. We make no attempt to link these addresses with the identity of individuals visiting the site unless an attempt to damage the site or an improper use of electronic networks has been detected in association with an IP address.

Use of Cookies

The survey will employ cookies1 in order to ensure that the survey is being completed only once per computer.  They will also allow for the survey to be saved and continued at a later time.  Cookies are also used by the Courts' websites in order to ensure that the pop up notifications regarding the survey appear only once per visitor.
